Patrick J. Rooney, Sr. of Copiague, LI suddenly on March 21, 2016. Proud veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict and a proud Irishman. Beloved husband of the late Frances T. Loving father of Kathleen Kay Rooney and Patrick Joseph Rooney, Jr. (Susan Marie). Cherished grandfather of Kelly Glendene Rooney and Jenny Mary Rooney. Dear brother of Kathleen Rooney, Carolyn DeLuna and Peter Rooney (Elizabeth). Mr. Rooney is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Reposing Monday and Tuesday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Bellmore Knights of Columbus service Tuesday evening 7:45 PM. Funeral Mass Wednesday 9:30 AM St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Amityville. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the LI National Cemetery. As an alternative to flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
