Isabella Squicciarini Isabella passed away at the age of 91. She was born June 20, 1925 in Bitetto, Italy to Vincenzo and Maria Silecchia. She married her beloved husband Giacomo Squicciarini (Jack) who predeceased her. She arrived in the United States on the Andrea Doria on June 5, 1954 with her cherished son Domenico. She and her husband built an amazing life with their strong work ethics and belief in the promises of America. She was a seamstress for years and eventually she and her husband and son would go on to acquire Broadway Beer and Beverages and become well known in the Amityville area. Isabella passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her dear son Domenico (Patricia), beloved grandchildren: lsa Keller (Brant), Lea DiVito (Adam), and Jack Squicciarini (Jennifer). She also leaves her much loved great grandchildren who called her Bisnona: Andrew, Benjamin,Olivia, Brendan, Blake, Brody, and her newest Lauren Isabel. She was the heart of the family and was the strongest ally of her children and grandchildren. She would cook incredible meals every Sunday and Holiday. She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and was always there to help and guide them in life. As a mother she was inspirational and cherished her son very much. They had an amazing relationship filled with love and the gift of humor. She was generous and loving to her son and daughter in-law and was always there to help and support them in their lives with their careers and raising their children. She was the greatest cheerleader for all of us. No one was prouder or happier than Isabella with her family. Isabella leaves her brothers and sister in Bitetto: Martire Silecchia (Cristina Maria), Michele Giuseppe Silecchia (Giovanna), Giacomo Silecchia (Antonia), Tommaso Silecchia (Rachele),and Maria Proscia (Michele). She was aunt to many nieces and nephews and had many beloved relatives and friends in Bitetto, Bari, and other parts of Italy, New York and New Jersey. She was a life-long Roman Catholic devoted to St. Martin of Tours Church and could often be found hand stitching baptism bibs and sewing other articles in the church. She was known for making meals and her famous cookies for the priests and bringing breads to church for the Feast of St. Joseph. She could be found at many morning masses, saying the rosary, and assisting the ladies with maintaining the altar. She loved and was greatly loved by the ladies and other members of the church. She was also a devoted member ofthe Society of Beato Giacomo, dedicated to living just and selfless lives as their revered Beato Giacomo lived serving others. Besides her family and church her greatest joys were cooking, singing, and sharing stories about her life in Italy growing up during a war and living in her beautiful Bitetto. Hers was a life fully blessed, appreciated and well-lived. She lived each day to the fullest and was always a giver to others. You never left her hungry for food, good advice, or affection. Her smile would light up the room when she welcomed you to her home. She will be truly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
