Sawyer, Thomas E. of Amityville, L.I. on July 5, 2014.  Proprietor for 55 years of Tom Sawyer’s Barbershop in Amityville. Beloved husband of the late Helen M. Loving father of Deborah M. and Donna M. Sawyer. Dear brother of Mary E., George F., John J., and Raymond V. Sawyer, the late Patricia I. Caruso, the late Harriet R. and the late William J. Sawyer. Mr. Sawyer is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Reposing Tuesday evening 7-9:30 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30 a.m. St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Amityville. Interment with Military Honors to follow in L.I. National Cemetery, Pinelawn, N.Y. The family has suggested, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to your favorite charity in Tom’s name.
