Obituary of James E. Koehler

Koehler, James, E. born and raised in Amityville, L.I. and moved to Massapequa where he raised his family, Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth(nee Glywasky) whom he married upon his return from his military service in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Loving father of Elizabeth Ann Lee, James E. Koehler, Jr., Jean Marie Lowery and Thomas H. Koehler. Cherished grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 3. Mr. Koehler was a renowned piano player and everyone who heard him play enjoyed his music. Among his many interests was his love for gardening and art. He worked many years for Republic Aviation/Fairchild Hiller. The family will receive friends Friday for memorial visiting from 2-4:30 & 7-9:30P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Sgt. John J. Kreyer VFW Post # 7223, of which Mr. Koehler was a Past Commander will have services at 7:30 P.M. followed by funeral services at 8:00 P.M. Prayer Saturday 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
