Obituary of Ulysses Speller Jr.

Ulysses “Junie” Speller Jr. was born June 9, 1964 in Jamaica Queens Hospital to Geneva and Ulysses Speller Sr. Ulysses is the youngest of 6 siblings; Vanderlee Jr and Vanessa Stevenson, Carla Hawkins, Philander (Phil) Johnson-Speller, and Colette Speller. In 1976 at 12 years old, Ulysses and family moved to Camp Rd in Massapequa, NY. There he attended Amityville School District for the remainder of his academic career. Ulysses graduated in 1982. He met his first wife Lauren Rauth and they had two children, Tia Speller in 1984 and Melissa Speller in 1986. Ulysses met his second wife, Deborah Fiumefreddo and they had two children, Ryan Speller in 1991 and Matthew Speller in 1995. He became a grandfather to 6 beautiful amazing grandkids, Jaiden, Donovan, Julius, Adonis, Eva and Elaina Thomas. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Ulysses moved into the legendary 90 Ridge Rd house in 1995 in Wheatley Heights. Ulysses started off sweeping floors at Aamap in Farmingdale and it was doing this that he discovered his passion for detailing cars. He would go on to open up a few of his own detailing shops and this allowed him to do what he loved best, GET MONEY, just like his plate. Ulysses loved being around people and music. This inspired him to open up his first cocktail bar in 2002, Cloud Nine. He also opened up Secrets lounge in 2013. He loved dancing, singing, joking and making someone smile.

Ulysses suffered a number of losses throughout his time on earth. He was greeted by his Mother Geneva, father Ulysses, brother Philander and son Ryan in heaven.

Ulysses will be missed by so many. The loudest person in the room has left the room.
