Obituary of Carl Passero

Carl Passero, 75, of Copiague, NY passed away into the loving arms of his Savior on October 11, 2023 after an extended illness. Carl was born in Brooklyn, NY to Carmine (Carl) and Antoinette (Ann) Passero. He grew up fishing with his grandfather, Michael DeMartino, in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn and developed a love of fishing for the rest of his life. His family moved to Long Island, NY where he eventually met the love of his life, Debbie DePrima. They wed in 1972 and were married for 51 years.

Carl loved his family and always worked very hard to provide for them. He owned and operated the Miss Captree, a party fishing boat at Captree State Park, for 15 years and was fondly known as “Captain Carl”. He also worked at Babylon Honda for many years.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Passero, and his daughters Denise Cappuccio (Philip), Danielle Ciliotta (Freddy), and Jackie Marfoglio (Carl). He is also survived by his brother, Vincent Passero (Mary) and his granddaughter, Julianna Ciliotta. He is predeceased by his beloved parents Carl and Ann Passero.
