Obituary of Geraldine C. Allen

Geraldine Claire Allen died on July 17, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born in 1932 to John and Claire Horwath in Holyoke, MA, although she lived most of her life in Amityville and Massapequa. In 1952 she married Claud Creason with whom she had five daughters to whom she was deeply devoted. Unfortunately, Claud passed away prematurely in 1963. In 1967 she married John Allen and they were together until his death in 2017. Geraldine is survived by her five daughters, Carol Anne McAleavey (Stephen), Mary Beth Hladky (Jeffrey), Geraldine Mazza, Claudia Moran (Martin), and Joan Marie Hyland (Edmund). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. The family extends its sincere appreciation to the staff of Artis Senior Living in Commack for the care they gave to Geraldine in the final two years of her life. Visiting will be on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated t 11:15 am in St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Massapequa. Interment to follow in Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn. The family has suggeste memorial contributions, for your consideration, to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimers Association.
