Words can’t describe the person that you are and the man that you are and the impact that you have on me.Granddaddy as I will call him took me in as his own child and loved me like his own. Granddaddy you are the dad that has made an impact on my life from taking me to the bus stop, teaching me how to properly fold my clothes and making my bed ,teaching me the house phone number if I have any emergencies. In 2008 my life changed when granddaddy and nana (Diane) chose to adopt me and give me their last name. You made me feel really loved and till this day I’m grateful for everything that you have done. You taught me how to drive even when I doubted myself you gave me the confidence. I will never forget being on the train ride to Alaska when you were nervous when the train was going through the mountains I said it was okay and that God has us. As I am writing this crying and thinking how I came to NY just two weeks ago because I am unable to go to the funeral .God held on to you and as I asked granddaddy do you remember me “, “he said yes I adopted you “ and that moment it was a blessing. One thing about granddaddy he doesn’t forget the people that means dearly to him. I’m so glad I got to see you one last time and you will always be in my heart and I will be at the funeral virtually . You are now in a better place and an angel watching over us. I miss you each and everyday and love you always. Thank you for making a difference in my life without you I’m not sure where I would be. You are a wonderful man of God , dad , husband , friend, and mentor and you mean the world to each person . Your legacy and impact will always be here with us.
Love always Jackie as he would sometimes say Jackie-Jack

When you have lived long enought it becomes pretty clear that life is not a play ground ,but a battle ground when you have lived long enought you come to realize that life is not always that easy. While we cherish those times of fun and excitement we dred those times of pain and anguish and struggle. Someone has said that life could be described as being bittersweet, it has those sweet moments that we cherish and embrace. But in living I found in life it's not how long we live or how well we live but how we live which is a life in Christ. One day while I was driving Dec, was pressing on his own brakes from the passenger side of the car and said you really know how wheel this car. I knew that Deacon Roberson played pool and I loved that game I challenged Deacon Roberson knowingly he was going to take my money, Mother Roberson would have beaten the both of us if she knew we were going to play for money. Deacon Roberson played to Win and he WON with the QUE ball in Christ. Thank you Deacon Roberson I won't forget you.
Love Shirley Latimore ❤️

To the man that showed me what being there for your family is all about. You used to say “too proud to beg too scared to steal”. You are the epitome of a hardworking family man. I appreciate you always being there for me. Even for my surprise 30th birthday party you were released from the hospital and still came to the party. I thank you for all you have done. I love you Tommy!

These last couple of months have been hard seeing a man I saw most of my life so strong become weakened. You were my compass of what a Father looked like when mine was not there. I was with you pretty much every weekend of my life. If you knew me you knew my Uncle. You gave me life lessons that to this day I can clearly remember you saying. You were much more than a Uncle, even Matt knew to ask you as well as my Dad for my hand in marriage. When Matt and Daddy passed I saw the pain in your eyes for me. I couldn’t wait to tell you and Diddy that I was pregnant and Diddy telling how concerned you were when I was in labor so long. You busted open that hospital door and was the first ones there when Matthew was born. Diddy telling me you wouldn’t stop walking until you got to me. I will miss you SO MUCH but I know you are with Junior, Daddy and Matt and you will always be watching over me. I am thankful that the last words we said to one another was I Love You

Tommy, for 83 years you were my protector, adviser and friend. Just thinking of my earliest memory of you was when we had our tonsils removed: I was 4 years old and you were 8, I remember waking up late in the hospital and our mother had left. I started crying and the nurse came in and spanked me and put me back in bed. You came to my bed and held me in your arms and said, “its ok Rochelle go to sleep.”
Tommy the only reason I’ve lived a successful life in New York, was due to your invitation to me to come to NY to work during the summer. Also, you told Daddy “Don’t worry I will take care of her financially,” which you kept your promise.
Thank God I followed that little voice within my soul that said, “Let Tommy know while he can respond”, I told you how much I appreciated you as my brother, protector, and friend. You’ve stepped in as a father figure to my children and grandchildren, by always attending their celebrations, graduations, birthday parties, and recitals just to mention a few. Most of the time we spent our holidays together as well as vacations.
I’m thankful that I spoke to him about our past, how much I appreciated him as a big brother who always looked out for my welfare and helped me, I told him I loved him, and I would always remember our times together.
His response was “well one hand always washes the other and I love You.”
I found this poem which I would like to share.
MEMORIES
BY TAMARAH M. OLSEN
My memories are what I have left,
And a lesson I will not forget.
The time has come when time is no more.
And all that was once before.
The memories so dear and true.
Those memories of me and you.
Although we fell and stumbled at times,
All those hills were necessary climbs.
All the time when your heart shined through.
Are the greatest memories I have of you.
I will always remember you, brother of mine.
In my heart I will keep you, so I will be fine.
I will go forward with my head up high.
It might be hard, I cannot lie.
But in my heart, you will be.
Moving forward, you and me.

To my uncle Tommy...
He always tell me about the time he brought me and my mom home from the hospital after I wad born....July 4th.
On one of my visits to New York, he took me to see Coney Island and the beach for the first time.
I remember him dancing with me in his home with family and friends in the basement with the tune of Stevie Wonders song Sign, Seal Delivered I'm yours.
I remember him taking me to clubs and seeing the night life in Brooklyn, with my aunt Rochelle.
He came to see my first born Jean Jr. with family in Brooklyn, On Sullivan Place.
He came for my 60th birthday party and barbecue in North Carolina.
Along with other memories, I will cherish him.
Love you Uncle Tommy Always!!!!

Charles, I remember the Cadillac and got a ride in it. I will miss my uncle. I told him things I did not share with anyone else, and he would always say you need to talk to my father, my brother, Cecil. I usually spent a night or two at Rochelle's when I was in New York, and I remember bragging to someone that I did not need them to take me anywhere. My uncle will come and get me. And you always did.
Tommy, I am getting chills as I describe the picture—you, Diane, Lucy, Tommy Jr., Michelle, and me. I will always love you now that you are with your parents and siblings.

I will always cherish the celebrations at Uncle Tommy's house. I will always remember the trips to West Virginia in Tommy's '72 Cadillac. I will remember getting my haircut by Tommy or watching him cut hair. He was the best barber!!! Proud of him becoming a Deacon!! He will be missed by all, I'm sure. He was a blessing to us all. God bless our family and his friends until we meet again. Lovingly and sorrowfully, Charles Robinson

Tom wore many hats. The greatest was "HE WAS MY FRIEND". He was a father-figure by way of keeping me in check. He was a MASTER- BARBER, mine for 64 years.
He was a major encourager in our marriage. He will be sorely missed in our lives. He loved us and we loved him. We are forever blessed to call him "FRIEND ". "See you in heaven, BUDDY".
