Obituary of Myriam D. Sammis

Myriam Davis Sammis "Mema" (101) of Amityville, peacefully passed away on December 10, 2021 after a long beautiful, filled life. Daughter of the late Clark Bunyan Davis and Emily I. Davis. Beloved wife of the late Albertis H. (Bert) Sammis and adored sister of the late Elizabeth (Bill) Simonson. Devoted mother of the late Janie (Ben) Moffatt-Rousseau, Emily (Lee) Beresoff and Susan (Hank) Estremera. Cherished grandmother of 7- Rich (Donna) Moffatt, Tommy (Michelle) Moffatt, Rob (Izzie) Moffatt, Timothy (the late Catherine) Beresoff, Debra (Mike) Alexander, Jennifer (Tommy) Corrigan and Darlene (Frank) Stanley, great grandmother of 15-Richie, Christopher, Amy, Sara, James, Jonathan, Jake, Cash, Gunner, Nicholas, Melissa, Michael, Taylor, Ella and Onslo and great great grandmother of 2-Jack and Penny.She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces. She was a treasure to so many and will always be remembered for her kind and loving spirit who never missed a celebration. She will truly be missed by all. The family will celebrate her life at a graveside service Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Amityville Cemetery, 55 Harrison Avenue, Amityville. The Reverend Sandy Koppmann, Pastor, First United Methodist Church will officiate. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Myriam's name to the Amityville Fire Department, Simpson United Methodist Church and Catholic Health Charities.
