Obituary of Constance L Roche

Constance Lehry Lander Roche of Massapequa Park passed away on May 4, 2021. Constance loved her family and friends dearly. She had a fun-loving spirit, and enjoyed creativity of all kinds, from art, to attending Broadway shows and concerts. She adored all animals and volunteered her time in many organizations and loved her cats profoundly. She was a beloved friend, and loving aunt to her many nieces. After working in banking for many years, Connie followed in her mother’s footsteps to pursue teaching, spending several years educating students in multiple schools in her community. Connie was preceded in death by her sister Marjorie, and her beloved mother and father Marjorie and Robert Lander. She is survived by her brothers Steven Lander, and Robert Lander (Lisa), her sisters Harriet Lander, Jackie Lander, and Dorothy Miller (Steve), and her nieces Brooke Ludwig (Michael, and children Alaena, Caden, Lily & Hope), Jessica Bishop, Kimberly Gard (Jay), Allison Miller, Meghan Allen (Michael) Victoria Gaitings (Ryan), and Jennifer Lander. Donations can be made in Constance's memory to Project Precious Rescue https://www.pprct.org/donate. Envelopes will also be provided at the funeral home. All CDC recommended guidelines will apply to everyone entering the building; face coverings must be worn at all times, social distancing throughout the premises, limited physical contact and interaction. Because of the limited capacity regulations (50% which equals 63 people at a time in the chapel/building at Powell Funeral Home, Inc.) as set by New York State, we ask that all visitors limit their time with the family so as to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to pay their respects. As people vacate the building, additional mourners will be permitted to enter.
