Obituary of Alton Kirk Kimbrough

Alton Kirk Kimbrough was born on October 24, 1962 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the first born to the late Cleveland and Leada Kimbrough. He attended public school at Amityville High School, where he was an excellent football player. Alton received many awards while playing football, some of which are still on display at the high school now. In the late 90's, he went on to play Semi Po Football for 3 years, stopping due to injury. In 1994, in the middle of a snowstorm, he met his soon to be wife, Mekeshia. They were married in June 1995 and later had 4 children. Alton loved to bowl. In his younger years, he and his wife were members of a bowling team at Bay Shore Lanes in Bay Shore, N.Y. Alton loved fixing cars. In 2011 he graduated from Career Institute of Technology with a certificate in Auto Mechanics. Alton loved Chinese food and he played his lotto numbers faithfully every day. On March 23, 2021, Alton gained his heavenly wings. Alton was preceded in death by his son Lamon, his father Cleveland Kimbrough, his mother Leada Kimbrough and his younger brother Aldrice Kimbrough. Alton leaves to forever cherish his memory: his wife Mekeshia of Wyandanch, N.Y., daughters: Mercedes of New Rochelle, N.Y., Krystianna and Melissa of Wyandanch, N.Y. and son Alton Jr. of Wyandanch, N.Y., stepdaughter Tiasia Martin of Bronx, N.Y., sister Jessica Kimbrough of Brooklyn, N.Y., lifelong best friends Donald "Greg" Hinton of Atlanta, GA., Greg Sally of Patchogue, N.Y., Torray Coppedge of Amityville, N.Y. and Donald Chandler of East Massapequa, N.Y.; and a host of cousins and other family members.
