Loving father of Thomas Stern (Kathy), Joseph Stern and Patricia McVeety (Kevin). Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Surry (John), Kristen Stern, Ryan, Megan and Colleen McVeety. Adored great grandfather of John Thomas Surry. Dear brother Sister Catherine Stern, O.P. and Gertrude Stern. Mr. Stern was also predeceased by his brothers Frederick, Aloysius, Henry & Peter and his sister Adelaide. Reposing Monday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Funeral Mass Tuesday 9:30 A.M. St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Amityville. Interment with military honors at Calverton National Cemetery. The family has requested memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to Dominican Village, 565 Albany Ave., Amityville, N.Y. 11701 or the Sisters of St. Dominic, 555 Albany Ave., Amityville, N.Y. 11701. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
