Purdy, Andrew N. lifelong resident of Amityville, L.I. suddenly on November 6, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Nancy M. Dear father of George T. and Richard E. Peterson. Loving brother of Arlene E. Syrett and Seth P. Purdy, Jr. Adored grandfather of Stephanie Forier, Richie, Nicholas & Bryan Peterson and Erica Evans. Cherished great grandfather of Harrison and Lilly Peterson. Fond uncle of Karen Bailey and David Syrett. Dear great uncle of Jennifer and Stephen Bailey, Megan Schulze, Lauren Bender, Ashley Syrett and great great uncle of Jackson Schulze. Reposing this evening (Tuesday) 7-9:30 P.M. and Wednesday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. VFW Service 7:30 P.M. and Masonic service 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening. Firematic services Wednesday 8:00 P.M. Funeral service Thursday 10:30 A.M. Simpson United Methodist Church, 30 Locust Ave., Amityville. Interment with military honors Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to the Simpson United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
