Hotchkiss, Linda M. of Amityville, LI on July 1, 2017. Beloved daughter of the late Robert and Angela Hotchkiss. She is survived by her loving sisters and brother, Dorothy Vena, Mary Hotchkiss McGregor (Peter) and their sons, Lachlan and Louis Anlezark, William Hotchkiss (Anne Marie) and their children Dylan and Alyssa Hotchkiss. Linda loved fly fishing and was an accomplished fly tier. She fished all over the world, including Iceland, Tasmania, Norway, England, Scotland and Ireland. She loved fishing in New England, especially the Farmington and Housatonic Rivers. She specialized in tying woven flies and regularly attended international fly tying shows such as the British Fly Fair International, International Fly tying Symposium, Irish Fly Fair, Irish International Fly Fair and the Somerset Fly Fishing Show. Linda was also a member of Juliana's Anglers Sporting Club for 17 years, holding many posts including club president. She also taught fly fishing for several years, introducing cancer survivors to the sport through Casting for Recovery. Linda also raised puppies for Canine Companions for Independence. She took great pride in the dogs and their roles in improving lives including her puppy, Lolita, who graduated and went to work with service members battling PTSD. He was also an active member in the Narrasketuck Yacht Club in Amityville, serving as Vice Commodore, chairperson for the Narrasketuck Junior Sailing Program and sailed in the crew position on Narrasketuck #194 competing in races up and down the Great South Bay. Linda was also a member of the Dix Hills Volunteer FD for 13 years (1983-1996) working fire, rescue and dispatch, in addition she was a certified Advanced EMT and Secretary of the Rescue Squad. Linda, through her many organizations and activities, is survived by her many friends she made throughout the world. Reposing Thursday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 pm at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Funeral Mass Friday 10:30 am St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Amityville.
