Marshall Rhein of West Islip, LI died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home. He lived his life of 90 years with abounding love for his church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and for his family. His kindness and delivery of the worst jokes will continue to make us smile. He was a proud veteran of WW II, serving in the US Air Force as a B-24 Nose Gunner. He was also a proud member masonry, serving multiple times as Master of Amityville Lodge #977 F&AM, as well as many of the fraternal organizations associated with Masonry for over 50 years. In his professional life he was a salesman for over 40 years. Adoring husband of his true love of 64 years, Gladys, who predeceased him in 2011, together again. Cherished father of James Rhein (Barbara), Kevin Rhein (Pamela) and Robin Ellison (Raymond). Proud grandfather of Benjamin (Katie), Nia (Andrew), Justin (Christie), Joshua, Skylar and Rebekah. Dear brother of Trudy Smith. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 PM. Amityville Masonic Lodge #977 F&AM will conduct a masonic service at 3:00 PM followed by Amityville Chapter #700 Order of the Eastern Star services at 3:30 PM.
