Obituary of Emani D. Berry

Emani Diana Berry daughter of James Ervin Berry and Sabrina Nicolle Williams was born on May 11, 1997, at 11:07 pm at Plainview Hospital in Plainview, NY. Emani lived in the town of Amityville where she attended Amityville public schools and graduated from Amityville high school in June 2016, directly after high school Emani enrolled at Branford Hall Career Institute where she received her certification as a medical assistant in March 2017. Soon after Emani became employed by the urgent care facility in Amityville NY, where she began a career that she loved. On July 3rd, 2019, Emani gave birth to her pride and joy Josiah A’mir Wint. During this time Emani was diagnosed with congestive heart failure then in 2020 Emani was diagnosed with a severe case of Lupus. On June 5th, 2022, Emani received a double lung transplant and a heart transplant. Emani never gave in to her disease she was a fighter and continued to fight every day since she was diagnosed. Emani was a beautiful person inside and out. Emani was well-known throughout her community. And was loved by all her family and friends. On May 12th, 2023, the day after her 26th birthday Emani departed this life. Emani was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Diana Gaskins and her great-grandmother Hannah Gaskins, she leaves to cherish her memory and love forever to her son Josiah A’mir Wint, her parents Sabrina Nicolle Williams and James Ervin Berry her brothers Tyleik and Akeem Williams, aunts Beverly Gaskins and Stacey Berry, uncles Ronald F Gaskins Jr. (wife Claire) and Chris Berry, her grandfather Ronald F Gaskins Sr (wife Anita) paternal Grandmother Easther Berry, and great aunts Carol Green, Janet Gaskins, and Ernestine Exum. She also leaves behind a multitude of cousins, friends, and family which she loved dearly.
