Obituary of Janet M. LaBorne

Janet M. Riley LaBorne of Amityville, LI went home to the Lord on April 18, 2023. She was 98. She was born August 5, 1924 to John Riley and Amelia Vail Riley in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Georgian Court College, now a University, in 1947. She married the love of her life, Dr. James LaBorne on June 18, 1949. They had challenges in life but mostly they had fun and lots of laughs. They had seven children, Denise (Steve), Janet (Bob), James (Teresa), Leanne (Dan), Peter (Jaci) and Paulette. Her son John predeceased her as did her husband (Doc), her grandson Kevin Kretz, her grandson Ryan McDonough and Gleny Espinal. She has 20 grandchildren, Daniel (Dawn), Patrick, Meghan, Katey (Jimmy), Jessica, Emily (John), Jacilene (Joe), Chelsea, Kali, James, Mary (Jill), Dano, Rae (Patrick), Tyler, Austin, Alex, Niklas, Jackson (Danielle), Rafe and 22 Great grandchildren, Ryan, Grady, Nolan, Stephen, William, Catherine, Henry, Kevin, Cormac, Amelia, Tess, Meg, Luke, Caidan, Braxton, Zoe, Brenna, Tristan, Aurelia, Sabina, Vail and Logan. She loves each and every one of them because love leads to perfect joy. Reposing Sunday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 pm at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Funeral Mass Monday 9:30 am St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Amityville. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
