Wilbur A. Sterling of Amityville, LI on May 14, 2018. Proud Naval veteran serving during WW II. Former Deputy Chief Fire Marshall of Suffolk County for 20 years. Ex Chief of the Amityville Fire department serving from 1965-1967. Beloved husband of the late Kathryn Sterling and the late Shirley L. Sterling. Loving father of the late Wayne Sterling and Janet L. Fine (Andrew). Cherished grandfather of Kaydie Fine. Mr. Sterling is also survived by Regina Coons, a close family friend. Reposing Wednesday 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 pm at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway (Rt. 110), Amityville. Amityville Masonic Lodge #977 services 4:00 pm, Wantagh American Legion Post #1273 service 7:15 pm and Amityville Fire Department Firematic Service 8:00 pm. Funeral service Thursday 10:30 am at the funeral home. Cremation is private. Inurnment with Military Honors Tuesday, May 22, 2018 11:00 am in L.I. National Cemetery, E. Farmingdale
