Obituary of June C Friedel

Friedel, June - passed peacefully on February 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her family in Amityville NY. Beloved mother to William Friedel (Denise), Karen Utley, Nancy Nizza and Richard Friedel (Patricia). She was loved dearly by her 10 grandchildren, Hank (Julie), Kaitie, Megan, Matthew, Michael, Victoria, Kevin, Lauren, Richard and Kayla. Her beautiful aide, Johann. She became her third daughter and helped her immeasurably for the past 2 years. Married for 22 years to late Henry Friedel. Born to Ethel and Raymond Fish in Jersey City NJ, she was one of three daughters. Gloria pre-deceased her and she is survived by Audrey and many nieces and nephews. June was a nurse for the Brooklyn VA Hospital for over 40 years and continued her passion for nursing after retirement while working for Nassau County. She attended Flower Fifth Avenue Nursing School for her nursing degree and continued her friendship with fellow classmate Theresa Distler. A consummate traveler, June has traveled the globe with her travel group of friends, especially Jackie Kos. Mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, June will be missed and loved by all.
