Sheila Jacqueline Brown died unexpectedly in her home in Massapequa, NY on Thursday November 2nd, 2017.  Her mother Joyce predeceased her in October of 2003.  She is survived by her son Jalen, brother John and nephew Johnta in Long Island any many extended relatives and friends.   

Sheila Jacqueline Brown was born on May 18,1964  in Manchester, Jamaica.  When she was 4 years old her family migrated to Brooklyn NY.  She and her family later relocated to Long Island, NY .  She was a graduate of Farmingdale high school. After high school, she worked in the Nutrition Department of Brunswick Hospital in Amityville, NY.  Anyone, who knows Sheila knows that she was a detail-oriented and analytical person. It was no surprise when she decided to attend Briarcliff College to get advanced training as a paralegal.  From there, she went on to touch the lives of many clients and colleagues,  first at Altschul and Goldstein law firm in Mineola, NY and then Grey and Grey law firm in Farmingdale, NY. 

 In 2001 her son Jalen Carl Blount was welcomed in her world as her pride and joy.  She loved with him with all her heart and set about preparing him for the world from the day he was born.  Jalen will remember her for her unconditional love, smile and determination. 

In her personal time, Sheila loved to read and she loved to cook.  She was nurturing to all those she came in contact with and she had an infectious smile.  She had a passion for justice and equality. She will be remembered for her a comedic personality.  No one left her presence without hearing a witty story and a burst of laughter. She has warmed the lives of many
