Uncle John was an outstanding man. It wasn’t big things that he’s done for me, but it’s all the little things to show he cared about everyone an personally myself. Whenever you came over, he greeted you with open arms and conversation. Uncle John always wanted to know how you were or what you were up to. He wanted to know what was new with you and where you were going in life and he did it without judgement. I love you, and we all love you. Cheers Uncle John, see you at the Gates -

Uncle John, I could never repay you for what you’ve given me over the years — your support, your humor, your love… You came to every one of my shows, even if it meant coming alone. I had no idea you were recording the band. Now, whenever I sing Blue Bayou, I’m going to think of you. Whenever I eat a pasta dish with Justine, I’m going to remember your “famous sauce.” If I’m sitting at a Mets game or an Islanders game with John, I’m going to think about you cheering right beside us. You’ve been there for me in more ways than I’ve known… and you did so, without hesitation. You made sure family could be with family, that there was always a place to spend time together and to play a game of Rummy 500. You always asked for a call or a text that we got home safely. You were my dad’s best friend, and I thank you for always loving him, as well. I love you, Uncle John. I always will. You have shown me what it means to love unconditionally and to let go of yesterday’s worries. To live for today. Here’s to you, Uncle John.

Uncle John was the best. Always fun, always a good time, always happy to say, “how you doin kid” and intent to hear, how I’m doing. His humor will be missed. His kindness will be missed. Uncle John will be forever missed and forever loved. God may be able to call him home, but may never be able to beat him in a debate.
