Obituary of Thomas J Cardinale

Cardinale- Thomas J., age 81 of Amityville sadly passed away on Saturday October 22, 2022.  He was born on January 30, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY.  Son of the late Joseph and Anna Cardinale.  Beloved husband of Theresa. Loving father of Lisa(Matthew), stepfather of Robert.  Devoted grandfather (Ba-Ba) of Anthony, Julianna, Annaliese and Marley.  His presence at his grandchildren’s events and all of our lives, made them more special. The times shared with him were always fun and loving. Thomas was survived by his youngest brother Johnny “Buzzie” Cardinale.  He was the younger brother of the late Victoria(Richard) O’Neil and Roseanne(Charles) Harrington.  He is survived by 10 loving nieces and nephews and their spouses. Thomas had an amazing childhood in Brooklyn, NY.  Growing up a Cardinale was an honor to him, he adored his parents, siblings and as the family grew, he would always be there with a smile and a laugh and kind word to share. After attending St. John’s University, he proudly served as a sergeant in the army.  Upon leaving the military, he started as a teller at Kings Highway Savings Bank, soon advancing into a programmer and Vice President. From there, he became the President of Joint Computer Center.  He finished off his illustrious career as the Senior Vice President and CIO of Greenpoint Savings Bank.  Tommy was an exceptional and honorable man who was revered by all. He will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Visitation Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Powell Funeral Home- 67 Broadway, Amityville NY 11701.  Funeral Mass Friday 9:30am at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Amityville.  Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.
