MCDERMOTT - Raymond R., of Massapequa, NY, suddenly on August 16, 2022, at the age of 83. Faithful, loving husband of Barbara A. McDermott (nee Stier). Selfless, devoted father of Barbara-Jeanne, Raymond A. (Susan), and Ronald P. (Linda). Doting grandfather of Alex, Lisa, Dylan, and Brandon. Raymond was an avid bowler, fanatical hat collector, painful joke teller, and meticulous lawn mower. The true definition of a gentleman and humble to the core. Family and friends are truly blessed to have known and loved him. Reposing Friday, 5-9 pm at Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway (110), Amityville, NY. Funeral Mass Saturday, 9:30 am at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Amityville, NY. Followed by burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY.
