Obituary of Eileen Julia Lee

Please share a memory of Eileen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Eileen Julia Lee, on June 4, 2022,  was born on January 8, 1938 in New York City to parents Viola and Joseph Magrane. Daughter. Sister. Wife. Mother. Teacher. Friend. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Married at an early age to James C. Lee of Queens, New York, they moved from Woodside to Massapequa, Long Island to raise their three sons: James, Steven, and Michael. Eileen was a proud graduate of Fordham University, with a master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Adelphi University. Eileen then pursued her lifelong passion of helping young children learn to communicate. Thirty-three years and countless children later, she moved into private practice to continue educating children through speech and language. Her retirement years were filled with her beloved Labradors, her garden, and her endless study of The New York Stock Exchange.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
