Obituary of Lawrence Wayne Booker

Lawrence Wayne Booker, affectionately known as Larry, was born on December 11,1952 to Raymond L. Booker and Clara C. Mayo-Booker at Central Suffolk Hospital in Riverhead, New York. In 1953, Larry and his family relocated to Amityville, NY. There they faithfully served at the Holy Trinity Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Reverend Spurgeon E. Crayton. At a young age Larry gave his life to Christ, was Baptized, served on the Usher board and sang in the Choir. Larry played several woodwind instruments mastering classical oboe, clarinet and saxophone. His gift made room for him to attend Usdan music camp for gifted musicians in the summers of 1968 & 1969. Larry received his formal education in the Copiague Public School District. He graduated from Copiague High School in 1971. Subsequently, Larry graduated from SUNY Old Westbury with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Larry was employed for many years working for the State of New York and the Federal Government. He lived a full and eccentric life. Sadly, Larry lost his battle with the COVID-19 Virus at St. Joseph's Hospital, Bethpage, NY on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara, father, Raymond and brother, Gerald. He leaves to cherish his memory: his four children, Nikita (husband Ronald), Sean, Donell and Israel, Five grandchildren, Ebony, Annissa (Husband Marcus), Cierra, Michael and Sean Jr. Three great grandchildren, Victoria, Zoeyannah and Tyriq, One brother, Mark (Wife Laura), Three Nieces, Felicia, Diana and Michelle, One Great Nephew, Jalani, Four Great Nieces, Nadia, Taylor, Genesis and Felicia Aaliyah, professed daughter in law, Lenore, longtime companion, Ann Wolos, special cousin Elaine (Husband David) and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
