Helen Cialdella was born to Rocco Cacciatore and Florence Tucci Cacciatore, and her older sister Betty (Borek) in Yonkers NY on August 8,1935. As a teenager Helen had a love for fashion and a talent for sewing and drawing. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and received a degree in fashion design. Upon graduation Helen worked in the field of fashion design in NYC. She married Anthony Cialdella in 1957 and relocated to Long Island. There they lovingly raised a family of three daughters Donna, Darlene and Toni Ann making many happy memories. While raising her children Helen continued to use her talent sewing many outfits, dresses and more for her daughters, making special occasion and wedding gowns and doing alterations for family and friends throughout her life. In 1985 she returned to work in NYC for a period of time. She later worked at Bridal Shops and JC Penney as a seamstress until she retired in 1997. Helen was always a special part of her family's life. From sharing vacations to seeing plays in NYC and going to concerts. Helen attended her grandchildren's school concerts, dance recitals, plays, birthday parties and many more special events. In 2006 she moved to Margate Florida (Oriole Gardens III) where she made many long lasting friendships and enjoyed the warm weather. Helen kept active joining Silver Sneakers exercise program, bowling and playing shuffleboard. She attended clubhouse social events, dances, trips, and played Rummikub, Bingo, Bunco and Mah Jongg with her friends. In her spare time she enjoyed reading a good book. Helen had a strong faith in God. She was a kind and loving woman who truly cared about her family and friends and always kept in touch by calling or sending a card. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and is described as being generous, independent, social, loved to have fun and young at heart.
