Anne Forgione Booth was the surviving member of 14 children born to Luigi & Rose Forgione, back in a time that seems longer than almost a century ago. Anne was a strong, determined, deeply spiritual woman who beat cancer twice. She had tremendous faith and believed in having a positive attitude. Once Anne was called "wonder woman" by a nurse while she was recovering from open heart surgery at the age of 85. "Things always work out for the best" was one of her favorite lines, she lived by those words.
She looked to make the best out of every situation and she tried to instill that in us. The simple things were the most important in her life. She always asked "when will my ship come in" (the ship full of money) but she knew deep inside she really didn't need that to be happy. She had her family and of course shopping. Anne loved her family very much. She lived for almost 94 years on that love, plus plenty of sugar, not eating her vegetables, or healthy foods; her diet consisting mostly of dessert, she defied logic.
Mom always wanted a daughter but had four sons; Douglas, Glenn, Mark & Gregg. She was tough on us, cousins Vicky, Linda, Joanna and Michelle can attest to that. Hanging out at any of their homes would prompt mom to kick us out of the house immediately (and we didn't need to drink soda either) coming from the woman obsessed with sugar. Mom really showed her true self though when it came to loving her grandchildren; Jessica, Joseph & Olivia and her great-granddaughter, Sophia. She was the perfect grammy and she had finally gotten her daughters.
People who knew her loved her. She was the beloved elderly woman in the Amityville Stop & shop. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to others. She never forgot anyone's birthday sending beautiful cards to most of the family members in a very large family. Anne was creative and had a wonderful sense of design, I attribute most of my artistic nature to my mom.
A quote from Mother Theresa sums up how Anne; a wife, mom, grammy, aunt lived her life........."In this life we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love". That's what mom did. As a lifelong tribute to a wonderful human being we should all try to follow that example, we love you mom and you are truly missed!

Doug, Glenn, Mark, Greg,
We are so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a lovely lady and it was obvious that she was so proud of you and loved you very much. The loss of such a special person is so painful. While you are sad and mourning your mom, remember that she lives on through you, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
