Fond memories with my Grandma-
I remembered the first time we met, it was while on a visit to Jamaica from the USA to attend your Dad's funeral. One of the first closest moment I remember during that visit was when you carried me in your lap in a car ride to the burial site. Another occasion was when you visited Jamaica for vacation. During your visit you came to visit my Mom and her family. You spend the night with us, and slept in my bed. Before going to bed, I remember admiring you, as you placed your long, black, and beautiful hair in rollers and your beautiful smile, while sitting right next to you.
Again on another trip to Jamaica I accompanied you and my Uncle Errol to Dunn's River. I enjoyed spending the day with you. I had the opportunity once again to sleep right next to my Grandma. Before going to sleep you told me about plans to retire in the next 10yrs which sounded like a very long time to me. You also told me about a plan for me to join you in the USA some day. I became very excited about going to live with you.
Both plan came to fruition but the greatest of the two, came when on October 26,1995 when me and my sister met, my Grand Aunt Hilda and her husband, but most importantly my Grandma, at Kennedy International Airport. The smile that I saw on your face was adorable for a wonderful and permanent reunion.
We lived with you for a little while before we were joined with the rest of my family. Soon after we moved to our own apartment, but that didn't stop me from spending time with my Grandma. We when to parties, and boy! Oh boy! my Grandma could dance. I got tired from just watching her on the dance floor. It was a beautiful sight to see. She became a member of my church and faithful went on Sundays. She loved God. She took me to my first job. She came to my graduation and my wedding. I got to spend a lot of great and wonderful times with my Grandma.
In closing I couldn't be more proud to say, I loved my Grandma and I had a wonderful relationship with her and she loved me all the way to the end. You will be deeply missed. But I will cherish all the fun times we spend together until we meet again.
Love and miss you dearly.
Granddaughter,
Naomi Baer
