Obituary of Tara Moore

Please share a memory of Tara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born the 21st of January 1979 to Charles and Alice Moore after one year of marriage. Complications at birth caused quite a bit of strife, but faith and unconditional love allowed Tara to surpass her “life expectancy”. Unable to crawl or speak, Tara was officially diagnosed with cerebral palsy and dystonia at age 3. Despite her ailments, Tara was determined to learn. She showed a passion for music (especially jazz), fashion, and art. She attended James E. Allen schools for exceptional needs from 1st - 12th grade. She graduated with Gifted Honors. Tara enjoyed good company and above all, laughter. Watching SNL or hearing the hilarious gossip in the house kept her squealing with laughter. As Tara grew older, her style and interests grew as well. She went to the movies, shows, and attended trips with her friends from Dayhab. After losing both parents, Tara continued to live with her sister Charli. She then started learning even more about herself and showed her happiest moments were spent with friends and family. Sadly, Tara’s condition would lead to complications. On March 12, 2021, Tara earned her wings. She will be remembered most for her smile, never forgetting ANYONE, style, and being sonically profound. Tara will now be watching over her Momster Charli, cousin Jacqulyn, sisters Tasia & Veronica, brothers CharneZ & Tyrell and a slew of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Until we meet again, Tara... Rest In Paradise. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 1:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home. Evening prayers will be conducted at 7:30 pm. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, 175 Broadway, Amityville by the Reverend Randolph Jon Geminder, Rector Monday, March 22, 2021 at 9:00 am. Cremation will be private. All CDC recommended guidelines will apply to everyone entering the building; face coverings must be worn at all times, social distancing throughout the premises, limited physical contact and interaction. Because of the limited capacity regulations (50% which equals 63 people at a time in the chapel/building at Powell Funeral Home, Inc.) as set by New York State, we ask that all visitors limit their time with the family so as to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to pay their respects. As people vacate the building, additional mourners will be permitted to enter.
