Obituary of Franco Costa

Please share a memory of Franco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Sunday December 27, 2021, Franco Costa, son of Agastino Costa and Luisa Costa, tragically died at Good Samaritan Hospital, Babylon NY, at the age of 51. Franco is survived by his wife Jesicca Costa, and his two beautiful daughters Angelina Costa and Alyssa Costa. Franco was born on January 20, 1969 in Parma, Italy. He was fiercely loyal to, and proud of his Italian ancestry and heritage. His parents and he immigrated to the United States, with determination, love of family, and the ambition to have a better life. With pockets that only held a few Lira, they were undaunted in the fact they didn't know the English Language, because they knew they were strong Italians, and had the substance and drive to "make it work'. Aside from family, nothing is more important to Italian-American men, and Franco in particular, than adhering to a strong work ethic. Franco was a dynamically talented Craftsman and Master Carpenter, with decades of experience and a tireless work ethic. He was dedicated to his craft until the end, and had an exceptional set of skills and was well known for his construction expertise. His many finished works of strength, skill and beauty accentuate many areas of Long Island and Manhattan. May these buildings and structures that Franco calloused his hands working on now stand as memorials to this wonderfully talented man. Franco was known for his vivacious personality, and always made people around him laugh, making friends everywhere he went. Friends would describe him as a loving, charismatic, goof-ball. One of Franco's favorite hobbies was watching football. His devotion to the black & gold can not be understated, as a hardcore Steelers fan. He most importantly took pride in being the father to his two gorgeous daughters, often bragging about how gifted and talented they are. He loved them deeply, and carried them in his heart. Although Franco's life was cut short, please join us in celebrating his life and remembering the good memories, laughs and light that Franco brought to our lives. His memorial will be held, Monday, February 8, 2021 from 6:00 -7:30 pm at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc. where friends and family will have an opportunity to share and celebrate Franco's life. All CDC recommended guidelines will apply to everyone entering the building; face coverings must be worn at all times, social distancing throughout the premises, limited physical and interaction. Because of the limited capacity regulations (33% which equals 45 people at a time in the chapel at Powell Funeral Home, Inc.) as set by New York State, we ask that all visitors limit their time with the family so as to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to pay their respects. As people vacate the building, additional mourners will be permitted to enter.
