Obituary of Genevieve G. Triola
Forever Our Angel Smiling Down On Us
Genevieve Gackowski Triola was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 7, 1934. Following a ten year battle with Alzheimer’s Gen passed peacefully and received her angel wings on May 18, 2019. She married and moved to Amityville where she started her family in 1954 and remained in her home on Forrest Place for sixty years. Gen was the secretary at St. Martin of Tours Rectory for 23 years and a devoted member of the parish. She had a lot of wonderful friends over her lifetime and is now reunited with many of them. Gen enjoyed cooking, gardening, going to Montauk Point; but most of all she loved her family dearly and is leaving them with a legacy of abundant special memories. Predeceased by parents Frank & Josephine Gackowski, brother Stanley Gackowski, sister Mary Starace, first husband Eugene Triola, son Gene Triola, best friend/life partner Anthony Caiola and two unborn great grandchildren. Survived by and beloved mother of daughter Laurie Triola Murphy; grandsons Billy (Brittany) Murphy; Kyle (Anna) Murphy; Collin Murphy and fiancé Madelyn Rivera; granddaughter Kayleigh Murphy; great grandson Tait Murphy; nieces Tracey Starace, Pamela Gackowski Botway and Susan Gackowski.
Reposing Thursday, May 30th 2-4:30 and 7-9:00 pm at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 31st 10:30 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Amityville. Interment Amityville Cemetery.
