As a classmate in LuHi and in the years that followed, Jill was someone who could make you smile just thinking about her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. My sincere condolences to Jason and the rest of Jill’s family and friends.

I went to school with Jill in the early 60s at LuHi - we were part of the "First Family" of students to attend our school. Everything was new and unknown, and traditions or practices were all yet to be made. Into that context Jill came, always smiling, always upbeat. She was loved by so many for her pleasant outlook and kindness toward everyone. I am sure she became an unforgettable teacher who impacted many lives. It has been hard to hear of her untimely death and the sorrow it causes her family. She loved them so much! Hearing about the time and contribution she made to Lutheran HS over the many years since our graduation speaks of her giving heart, life long. - She made a difference to many and lived her life as a wonderful role model for the rest of us.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jill as a student at Long Island Lutheran High School. Those early days of the school were not always easy. We all had some "growing up" to do. I remember Jill as a bright light in those days. She was positive, helpful vibrant. She was a gift to us all. She now rests with our Lord for eternity. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Jill was one of the first students to open the doors and attend Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, we refer to as the First Family of LUHI '64 '65 '66. Jason your mother introduced us at the 50th school celebration in the Visscher gymnasium and she was very proud of the man you are today. Her two granddaughters were always on her mind and she loved and cared for them dearly. She spoke often about the great times with family and friends at the farm in Vermont. She shared with me and the First Family countless beautiful pictures, funny stories and references to our historical past. The silence for a few months signaled a potential problem.
Jill we will miss you for your many outstanding qualities of devotion to family, support of church, school and friendship. Jill your contribution to your community will live on for generations as kindness and a positive outlook is what the world needs and you lived as a shining example.
Jill you will be missed, God Bless you.

Mrs. Wood was my kindergarten teacher. She will forever be my favorite. She remembered me years later after seeing me in stop and shop. She was an amazing teacher and woman. She will dearly be missed.
