Gestures
Hello all ~ My husband, Bob and I are students of the bible. We have learned that the bible is deity. This is the book of John, Chapter 1, verses 1&2. We are taught in the original languages of the text. The Greek is very precise. I truly think that Burt, being a teacher, would appreciate this message.
We want you to know that Jesus Christ came through the virgin birth, went to the cross and died for your sins. Ephesians 2: 8&9 says 'It is by grace you have been saved through faith; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one should boast.' The Roman soldier asked the apostle Paul and company, 'Sirs, What must I do to be saved?' And they answered, 'Believe on the Lord and you will be saved.' So, right where you sit you can pray in the privacy of your own soul, 'Father, I am believing in your Son and you will be saved.'
God promised something to Adam and Eve. A Savior. And at the right time He sent a Savior. God made all the provision. Jesus Christ did the work on the cross. The merit was in Him. Bob and I didn't do anything to earn salvation. It is a free gift of God. This is the spiritual reality. It's real.
The Lord wants us to be informed about Christians who have died physically (the tent, the body) so that we do not grieve excessively without hope. This is Thessalonians 4: 13-18. Please know that the time and the manner of the Christian's physical death is determined by the Lord. He doesn't make mistakes. The modern day life span is three score and ten (70 years of age) plus a little more if you're strong. At the appointed time, the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command. Christians who have died and those left around will be resurrected. Hope is elpis in the Greek which means confident expectation of these objective facts. We will be with the Lord together forever.
The soul doesn't sleep. The soul and human spirit (the real person) receives an angelic escort into the presence of the Savior, stepped out of time in perfect contentment. God loves us. I love you Marg, Jason, Diane and Mel. I wanted you to be informed because not everyone is informed that the bible is God's thinking. He tells us to adopt His thinking for our benefit, our protection and ultimately our capacity for life. I hope you find comfort in these words today.
In Christ, your cousin Stephanie
