Bruce N. Barber Obituary

 

Bruce N. Barber, 72, passed away on January 2, 2019 at Northport VA Hospital in Northport, New York. He was born on July 17, 1946 in New York, New York to Morris Molinof and Josephine Mae Barber.

Bruce grew up in Center Moriches, New York.  He graduated from Center Moriches High School name] in Center Moriches, New York in 1964. After high school he enlisted the United States Army from October 30, 1967 to December 8, 1971. During that time he was sent to Vietnam as a Helicopter Crew Chief, where he rose to the rank of SP5 and received NDSM, VSM, VCM (w/60 DEV), Air Medal (1st OLC), GCMDL, AM, GCMDL (2nd award) for his service. He last worked at ISG as a glazer.

Bruce married Geneva in 2011 in Amityville, NY. They were happily married for 8 years, Bruce was a member of VHCMA. 

Bruce is survived by his spouse Geneva.  His children, from his first marriage to Victoria; Christine, Bruce (Rusty), Rebecca (Becky) and Adam.  He has nine grandchildren; Phoebe, Rowen, Collin, Jillian, Hope, Devin, Dallas, Drew and Madi; and other relatives and loving in-laws.

A viewing will be held at Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 61 Broadway; Amityville, NY 11701on January 12, 2019 between the hours of 2:00pm – 4:30pm and 7:00pm to 9:30pm. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at that time.
