My name is Ken Webb I lived in North Amityville from 1950 - 1964 and was a graduate along with Allen at Amityville high school 1959-1960 I was also a amateur radio operator and spent many hours with Allen building amateur radio equipment.
He also encourage me to join the amateur radio club at Amityville high school in 1958. I also remember coming to his house not far from the school down by the water across from the canal many times and going over his equipment.
I will always right remember Allen the wonderful times we had together growing up and going to Amityville high school.
Oh yes and I recall many times studying music with his mom at school.

Rest in peace, my friend.
My favorite memory of Alan involved me passing out at church. He sprinted from his usher post at the back to the choir in the front to take care of me. I was supposed to sing a duet that morning, but he insisted that I needed to lie down as adamantly as I insisted that I was fine.
As the cue approached, I had an idea and demanded that I had to have ice cubes in the glass of water he was urging me to drink, which required him going downstairs to get them. As soon as he left the room, I walked to the doorway where the organist could see me, but I was standing behind my duet partner, who clearly wasn't sure she wanted to do this as a solo, and relaxed as soon as she heard the first note from me.
One last time, I apologize for tricking you that way, dear Alan!

My mom & I will surely miss Al Case on Amityville Community Radio. We are from Texas, so the music that Al, Bill & Gary played was like a breath of fresh air for us. Thoughts & prayers to Al's family & friends.
Sincerely, Sharla & Molly

Please accept my humble condolences: on the loss Alan (Al Case). What an honor to have experienced the genuine privilege of hearing " Sports, Sports, The latest Reports." On overnight radio at WLNG: co-workers must have no doubts distinctly appreciated this special gentleman. An American original!
Also, may I please offer to Family; deepest Sympathies for your loss of Al Case.
What a brilliant bright light was in the presence of all WLNG radio listeners for the times and places we valued his overnight shows in Sag Harbor, New York
Best,
Joseph DiPaola

Alan was truly one of the nicest guys not only all through school but all the wonderful things he did that I would hear about over the years. I was on FaceBook with him and I am so sorry that this fine gentleman passed and so many of his classmates felt the same way about him. Peace in God's arms and playing for the angels.

I met Al over 40 years ago when I was a kid obsessed with radio. I used to listen to his “Saturday night thing” on WGBB. I would have my Dad take me to his WGBB fire truck remotes. I always looked up to Al and was so proud to call him my friend. He touched so many lives. He was an amazing person and dear friend. He will be sorely missed.

I knew Al for about 45 years; originally meeting him at one of the Fire Department Parade Remote Broadcasts in Nassau County that he did. We became good friends and in 1975, I began working for him at Radio Station WGBB as a Remote Broadcast Engineer. We remained friends after Al left WGBB in 1977 and would E-mail or call each other as often as possible. Anytime that Al needed anything from me, I would be more than happy to help. Likewise, if I needed anything frrom Al, he was always glad to help. Al's passing left a void in my life since I always considered him to be a lifelong friend. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Although in fragile health, Al recognized a need in the community for an effective way to get news and information out to residents of Amityville and the surrounding south shore communities, following Hurricane Sandy. He devised "Amityville Community Radio" that played a unique blend of easy listening/beautiful music that was enjoyed by listeners in the Amityville area and throughout the world through the internet. He gave it an interesting, professional sound, and rightfully took pride in it. He was busy overseeing its operation even from his hospital bed, by computer. Al, of course, also had a distinguished career in Long Island radio, most recently at WLNG.
Rest in peace, dear friend.

I just was saddened to just learn of Al’s passing. I was working in my basement today, listening to Amityville Community Radio all day and said, “I have to call Al this week and see how’s he doing. I just received an email with the sad news from a mutual friend. He took pride in everything he did and was so dedicated to the community of Amityville, in which he lived his entire life.
May he Rest In Peace!
