Obituary of Esther M. Reavis

Esther May Banks-Reavis, daughter of the late Daniel Banks and Alice Travis was born on March 19,1932 in Lawrenceville, VA. She departed this life on October 22, 2016. Esther received her education in Amityville, NY and graduated in 1951. She went on to attend St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, VA. Esther married Norflet Ned Reavis on July 14th, 1951 from their union they had 4 children. Esther was passionate about many things gardening, reading, history and most of all children. She always said every child she was the caretaker of was her child. Her flowers and books were her favorite things and words can't describe how deep her love was for these. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Clear Baptist Church in Amityville, NY. She dedicated her life to helping and nurturing anyone that needed her in any way that she could. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children Patricia, Gary (deceased), Philip (Elizabeth) and Laraine (Gregory); brother, McKinley (Norma) and Son-in-Law Ralph; Nine grandchildren - Luciana, Andre (Kimberly), Antoinette, Nicole (Artrell), Zarkaya, Renee (Jim), Jason (Alma), Venessa (Richard) and Philip Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
